How Reverse Auctions Work:
Seed packs that are listed at Reverse Auction start at their regular price, and then drop $1 in price every 15 minutes until they reach their lowest price (or reserve). Once they get to their lowest price, if they are not purchased, they reset to their original price. If at any time the seed pack is purchased, at any price, it will start over and reset to it’s original price and start dropping in price again ($1 every 15 minutes) until it is purchased or until it reaches it’s lowest price (which it then resets to it’s original price and starts dropping again).
Rules:
Please note that you must check out with the pack of seeds completely to get the seeds at the price displayed. Simply putting them in your cart does not reserve them (or their price). Putting a pack of seeds in your cart does not keep other customers from putting the same pack in their cart and checking out with the same pack before you. The first customer to add the pack to their cart and completely check out with the pack (pay and click the “Place Order” button) will get the pack of seeds. Many different customers can have the same pack of seeds in their carts. The first one to check out with the pack wins the pack. And the timer does not stop when you add the pack of seeds to your cart. It doesn’t stop during checkout, either. It only stops once checkout has been completed. So, the pack of seeds timer will continue dropping while it sits in your cart. Or, if the pack has hit its reserve price (usually $14-$18) and you don’t check out with it in time, it will reset back to its full price (usually $35). It is your job to refresh the checkout page to ensure the price hasn’t dropped or reset before you pay. If the price of a pack of seeds resets to the original full price while you are in checkout, you lose the pack at that price. The reverse auction timers are usually set to drop every 15 minutes. It is your job to check and see how much time is left on the pack’s countdown. If you grab a pack and it has 30 seconds left before its price drops or resets, it’s up to you whether or not you can check out in time.
If you are in your cart and you pay and the price changes afterward, before you can hit the “Place Order” button, you will have to pay the difference to complete the order. Remember, the items in your cart are on a timer, and if you cannot pay and then click “Place Order” in time, that’s on you. There is nothing we can do about it. Check the timers on your cart items to ensure you have enough time to checkout, pay, and complete the order by clicking “Place Order.”
Most people try to get the packs at their lowest prices. Remember, they are only at that price for 15 minutes (or whatever it says is left on the counter).
If you cannot get through checkout, pay, and click “Place Order” in time, the price will reset, and you will be responsible for paying the full price (if you want your order).
THE SAME REVERSE AUCTION RULES APPLY EVERYWHERE, ON ALL WEBSITES OFFERING REVERSE AUCTIONS.
Bottom-Line:
The reverse auctions are free-for-all. First come, first served. No exceptions. When the price changes or resets, that’s it. The integration we use is the same as every other seed bank. The reverse auctions work here the same way they work everywhere (regarding their main functionality).
Tips:
Register for an account and save all your addresses and user information in it so you won’t have to type it all out during checkout.
